Birdie Biscuits
This recipe is for the entire family. After mixing the ingredients take out enough dough for 1 large biscuit and continue in order to make the Birdie Biscuit. This is one of my birds very favorite.
2 cups flour 1tsp. salt 3tsp. baking powder 6 tbls. shortening (cut into the flour mixture until the size peas) 2/3 cups milk
Mix the ingredients and roll in to a ball with enough flour so that the dough is easy to handle. Shape into the size biscuit you wish saving out enough for 1 biscuit. Into that biscuit mix the
following: 1/2 c rolled oats, 1/2tsp. red peppers, 1 tsp. wheat germ, 2 tbs. Beak Appetite (your choice of flavor) 1/2 small baby food jar of carrots. Mix all together and roll into a ball with enough flour to handle easily. Shape into biscuits and place on baking sheet along with the families biscuits. Bake in 425F oven that has been pre heated. Bake until golden brown. Add butter to the human biscuits and spread baby food applesauce on the birdie biscuit pieces that will be eaten at that time. Cut the biscuits into pieces and freeze until ready to use at which time after heating you will spread applesauce on top of pieces before serving. I serve this with baked yams.
